DESIGN AND DISPLAY

A hard-anodized, matte black metal band forms the core of the phone, while sheets of Corning Gorilla Glass 6 sandwich the front and back of the device. The edges of the back glass to make the ROG Phone II more natural to hold in normal use. The ROG Phone II it features a massive display improvement. There is a 6.59-inch diagonal screen size makes this one of the larger phones around, but its 19.5:9 aspect ratio means that it remains comfortable to use in one hand. The front of the ROG Phone II is mostly businesslike when the screen is off. A pair of copper accents at the top and bottom of the device are the only outward clues to its identity on the front side.

The real fun starts on the back of the phone. Subtle holographic inlays accentuate the angular openings for the twin camera system and dual-tone LED flash. Another matte-black accent draws the eye to the copper vent for the massive cooling system hidden inside the device.

The Republic of Gamers can broadcast their allegiance with an Aura-powered RGB LED logo inlaid in the back glass. This silvery logo looks subtle enough when its LEDs are off. Fire up Aura through the pre-installed Armoury Crate utility, and you can make this logo glow with many of the lighting effects. The ROG Phone II lacks a visible fingerprint sensor. But thay taken advantage of the latest developments in biometric tech to embed one under the screen.

The ROG Phone II uses slim bezels at the top and bottom to make room for its powerful sound system and optimally positioned front camera. To keep the front of the phone looking sharp, we made sure to maintain symmetry between the two bezels, as well. On the left side, you’ll find two extra USB-C ports, which are primarily used for optional accessories but are great for long gaming sessions as well. Mobile gamers have told me that bottom-mounted USB-C ports make it hard to game in landscape mode, and in a recent interview, pro mobile gamer PowerBang Gaming told me the side-mounted USB-C ports were his favorite feature from the original ROG phone.

HARDWARE AND PERFORMANCE

The Asus ROG Phone II will be the first to utilize the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, which on the CPU side is 4% more effective than the standard version with a maximum speed of 2.96GHz.

More importantly, the Adreno 640 graphics processing unit (GPU) has a 15% improvement over the standard Snapdragon 855. Also onboard is UFS 3.0 memory for faster write and rewrite speeds, so you should see 15% faster speeds for loading games and opening apps. Other specs include 12GB of LPDDR4 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage, making the ROG Phone II the second device available with this faster storage type. The ROG Phone II has a massive 6,000mAh battery which supports 30W fast charging in addition to a secondary side Type-C port with fast charging and display port support. You’ll also get four 802.11ad Wi-Fi antennas, an optical in-display fingerprint reader, and a new generation of touch-triggers on the side of the device for games. For audio, you’ve got a headphone jack and the front-facing stereo speakers. This thing is stacked.

CAMERA

The ROG Phone II has a dual-camera setup on the back. It consists of a primary 48MP camera that uses IMX586 sensor and a 13MP secondary ultra-wide camera with 125-degree field-of-view. On the front, there’s a 24MP selfie camera. As the ROG Phone II comes with the same camera setup that we saw on its Asus 6Z.

SUPPORTED ACCESSORIES

One of the best parts about ASUS ROG Phone II was the varied array of accessories. Asus went all out again this year. There are eight accessories you can mount to the device, and many of them are modular so they can work together.

  • AeroActive Cooler II: An active cooling fan that mounts into the two USB-C ports. This ships with the device in the box.
  • Aero Case: Thin and light case that shows the glowing ROG logo on the back.
  • TwinView Dock II: A clamshell device with a display on top and a 5,000 mAh battery to power it.
  • ROG Kunai Gamepad: A set of controllers that effectively turns the ROG Phone II into a Nintendo Switch.
  • Mobile Desktop Dock: A dock to mount your phone and connect it to a separate monitor.
  • Pro Dock: A dongle that adds tons of I/O, like USB-A ports and ethernet.
  • WiGig Display Dock Plus: Allows you to stream your device to a TV or other monitor for big-screen gaming.

ASUS Zanfone 6

Asus has reimagined the ZenFone 6 in 2019 as a powerful new flagship Android smartphone with a focus on performance, battery life and a unique rotating dual camera. The most noteworthy and noticeable feature is the flip camera.

Here are all the details of ASUS ZenFone 6 Smartphone.

ASUS ZANPHONE 6- TECHNICALGEEKY

Design

The all-screen NanoEdge display has a cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 color gamut that lets you see everything in vivid, lifelike color — even outdoors in bright sunlight. This stunning display is fully protected by the latest, most drop-resistant Corning Glass 6, making ZenFone 6 extraordinarily tough. The 6.4-inch LCD panel is enormous, and its 92% screen-to-body ratio draws you in to whatever’s happening on the screen. The front of this phone is completely minimalist, with really nothing other than the screen to be seen. The chin is very slightly thicker than the rest of the borders, but that’s only visible when the screen is on. If you look very closely, you’ll see a slim earpiece at the top, and Asus has even managed to hide a tiny status LED next to it.

The main attraction is the flip-up camera module. There are two cameras with a dual-LED flash and laser autofocus sensor between them. The blue-ringed power button is low down on the right so it’s within reach, and the volume rocker is right above it. Asus has put an unusual fourth button on the right of this phone; a multifunction Smart Key that is set to trigger various Google Assistant functions but can be customised to do several other things.

There’s a USB Type-C port on the bottom, and many people will be very happy to see a 3.5mm audio socket next to it. There’s also a speaker which works with the earpiece as a stereo pair. The tray on the left can accommodate two Nano-SIMs and a microSD card.

Performance, Features And Battery

ZenUI on the ZenFone 6 is a massive step forward in gaining mainstream appeal for the phone, and it’s excellent. No compromises have been made on the specifications. The Snapdragon 855 processor is inside with the 6GB or 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage model, which absolutely flies through both heavy gaming like PUBG Mobile and everyday smartphone tasks. ASUS has tuned up the Android runtime for faster launches of common apps, and the “OptiFlex” feature can intelligently preload apps based on your usage patterns.

The Asus Zenfone 6 runs ZenUI 6, which is a complete refresh from its previously terrible software. The new skin is lightweight, with only a few software additions on top of “stock” Android 9 Pie. The Asus Zenfone 6 features a dual-speaker setup. There is one speaker in the bottom edge of the phone and another doubling as an earpiece in the top bezel.

The ZenFone 6 is also a powerhouse of connectivity, offering USB-C connectivity with reverse charging alongside the likes of 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, a suite of GPS systems and even FM Radio functionality, although the increasingly-common wireless charging isn’t present here.

There have been many different attempts from manufacturers to achieve a bezel-less display while still providing access to the all-important front-facing camera, from notches to pop-up cameras, sliders and, with the introduction of the Asus ZenFone 6, Flip Cameras too.

Camera Quality

The flippy nature of the camera module is interesting; rather than featuring a front-facing camera that would encroach on the display, the phone’s rear-facing cameras can be flipped to face forwards. The module sports a 48 Mp Sony IMX586 sensor, with 1.6 um pixels and an aperture of f/1.79, alongside a 13Mp 125-degree wide-angle camera, laser auto focus and a dual-LED flash. The flippy nature of the camera module provides users with incredible-quality front-facing lenses, and allows users to access advanced shooting modes previously exclusive to rear-facing cameras.

The ZenFone 6 captured a pretty sharp picture of this Victorian-style house popping out of the bushes and standing distinctly against the bright, blue sky in the background.

The ZenFone 6 comes equipped with a huge 5000mAh cell, which paired with the Full HD+ resolution display should ensure the phone is able to dole out some impressive battery life figures. Quick Charge 4+ support is also built in but a more conventional 18W fast-charger comes in-box.

Asus Zen Book Pro Duo

The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo range is Asus’s new flagship line of powerhouse laptops. The Asus Zenbook Pro Duo represents a massive change in laptop design. It’s the first laptop I’ve featured on Technical Geeky to include a useful, ultra-wide secondary display above the keyboard. The Zenbook Pro Duo is a surprisingly polished product considering it’s ambitiousness from a design perspective. Are we ready for a dual screen laptop future?

Here are all the details currently known about Asus’ innovative new laptop.

Asus ZenBook Pro Duo review:

  • Windows 10
  • 15.6-inch 4K OLED (3840 x 2160) touchscreen display
  • 14-inch 4K LCD IPS (3840 x 1100) touchscreen ScreenPad Plus secondary display
  • Up to 8th Generation Intel Core i9 processor
  • Up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU
  • 2x USB-A 3.1
  • 1x USB-C 3.1
  • 1x HDMI
  • 1x 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Full size, backlit chiclet keyboard
  • Numpad built into touch pad
  • Audio system from Harman Kardon

asus_zen_book_pro

The new Asus ZenBook Pro Duo is a wonderfully eye-catching laptop that’s apparently been designed specifically to help improve productivity and support those who regularly use their device to multitask.

If you like a machine that allows you to use multiple windows at once, then this might well be it. But the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo is so much more than that. It’s also a real powerhouse, at least based on the rough spec sheet that we have seen. That large secondary screen is also much more than just eye candy, it’s also incredibly flexible and customisable.

A first glance at the ZenBook Pro Duo and you’re immediately struck by a stylish finish and a premium construction. That’s because it’s been CNC Milled and features an all aluminum design for “increased durability and a great finish”.

It’s really striking, but it’s that second screen that stands out the most.

ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo! Designed to give you the ultimate edge in workflow efficiency, the unique design features a full-width 4K ASUS ScreenPad™ Plus that works seamlessly with the main 4K UHD OLED display. It’s never been this easy to harness your full creative power. ASUS ScreenPad™ Plus gives you on-the-go computing like you’ve never experienced before. It’s a full-width 4K secondary touchscreen that works seamlessly with the main 15.6-inch 4K UHD OLED touchscreen, giving you endless ways to optimize and personalize your workflow. A series of handy built-in apps help boost your productivity. Quick Key allows one-tap automation of complex keyboard sequences, and Handwriting lets you input text intuitively. There are also useful quick controls such as App Switcher, ViewMax and Task Swap for intuitive interactions between the main display and ScreenPad Plus. Task Group lets you lock into work mode by opening multiple tasks with a single touch. And now you can drag apps or in-app toolbars onto ScreenPad Plus to give you more room to work on the main display, wherever you are.

You get an i7 or an i9 variant with an Nvidia RTX 2060 so the performance of this lappy is well cut for serious workaholics and creators. And for the folks who bargain for zero compromises, it comes with up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage.

That’s a power package for anyone looking to get work done and not just play games on MS Excel but it’s also a sign of significant battery drain. We’ll know for sure how long the battery would last on this thing in the full review but our advice would be to keep your hopes low. There are two damn screens on this thing!

leptop

Special mention – the connectivity features are amazing. You won’t need chunky adapters to hinder your workflow and there’s WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and Alexa voice integration too..

With ZenBook Pro Duo, your creativity will know no bounds.
